Corporate Responsibility

Environmental, Health and Safety Policy

General Dynamics Land Systems is committed to protecting human health, natural resources, and the global environment while promoting and maintaining safe workplaces and practices for our employees, customers, suppliers, and other interested parties throughout the life cycle of our products and services.

We all have a shared responsibility to identify internal and external issues that present potential environmental, health or safety (EHS) risk or opportunity, and to take corrective action in an effort to eliminate environmental impacts and safety risks.

EHS Management System objectives and processes that support this commitment to continually improve include:

  • Considering EHS issues in business strategies and initiatives.
  • Frequently assessing the potential environmental impacts and safety risks that are relevant in the context of our organization.
  • Implementing proactive policies and procedures to comply with applicable environmental, health and safety legislation and regulations and other requirements to which the company subscribes.
  • Reducing work-related injuries and ill health.
  • Conserving natural resources.
  • Reducing the use of hazardous materials.
  • Reducing the generation of hazardous wastes, pollutants, and by- products by considering a life-cycle perspective of our products and services.
  • Recycling materials whenever possible.
  • Implementing appropriate technologies for prevention of pollution and the control of pollutants that cannot be eliminated.

The Land Systems Leadership Team is committed to ensure that the safety of our employees and protection of the environment is embedded in the company’s culture and will encourage our suppliers and customers in a similar strategic manner.

The foundation of our EHS program relies on training, participation and empowerment. We all share the responsibility for following established policies and procedures, identifying and reporting potential EHS concerns, maintaining relevant documents, and knowing the emergency contacts, procedures, and evacuation plans at our respective facilities.

As a team, we are committed to a culture that protects the health and safety of each other and preserves the environment for future generations.
